Norske Nook BakersWhile many of you were still sleeping this morning, Norske Nook bakers were at work baking an assortment of baked goods, including muffins, breads, cookies, lefse, tortes, cheesecakes, and, of course, homemade pie. Love, care, and attention to detail are ingredients in every recipe we make.

An Award-Winning Pie
Each Norske Nook in-house bakery provides guests with a variety of homemade pies and desserts to order in our bake shop or online. While we offer a variety of delicious Scandinavian specialties, we are most known for our pies. Several of our "made from scratch, each crust rolled by hand" pies have won awards at the Annual National Pie Championship in Florida. From blueberry to pumpkin cream cheese to pecan pie, you are sure to find a new favorite with each visit. Norske Nook also features a pie of the month that is available at a special discounted price.


Scandinavian Desserts
The bakery also features some traditional Scandinavian desserts, such as sandbakkels (a tiny pastry pie), rosettes (bakery item/fried doughnut), and almond cake. Other baked goods include Norwegian cookies, pecan rolls, muffins, homemade breads, Norwegian flat bread, and lefse.

Homemade Raspberry Pie





PECAN PIE
For a 11 - Inch Pie Pan

Ingredients:
5 EGGS
1 CUP SUGAR
1 1/2 SCANT CUPS DARK KARO SYRUP
3/4 CUP WARM MELTED BUTTER
1 UNBAKED SINGLE PIE CRUST
1 1/2 CUPS PECANS, CHOPPED
(ENOUGH TO COVER TOP COMPLETELY)


1. Preheat oven to 325 F. Using an electric mixer on high speed, beat together all ingredients except the pecans. Beat until thick and the mixture just begins to get a light color.

2. Pour into unbaked pie shell.

3. Sprinkle the chopped pecans on top, and bake for about 45 minutes, until set.
