"Home Cooking At Its Best"

Located in Rice Lake, Hayward & Osseo, The Norske Nook is renowned for its homemade cooking and "made from scratch, each crust rolled by hand" award-winning pies. Earning many awards by consumers in Midwest Living and Wisconsin Trails magazines, The Norske Nook has been visited by famous country, rock-n-roll and news media celebrities along with hundreds of tourists from all over the country and the world. Everyone loves the great home cooking and warm, down-home hospitality.

Making Pies at Norske Nook Although lucky locals have enjoyed Norske Nook home cooking - especially the delicious pies - since 1973, it wasn't until Jane and Michael Stern's 1978 "Roadfood" book (a tribute to America's cafes and diners) rated the Norske Nook as one of the ten best in the nation that the Norske Nook received national attention.

In the 1992 "Roadfood" book, the Norske Nook again receives high praise from the Sterns as "one of the great gastronomical magnets of the upper Midwest."

The Norske Nook is open seven days a week and offers a full menu along with daily morning, noon and evening specials. From the bakery, choose from our:
